Sunday

Saturday April 7th

Down the Coquihalla, through Hope and Chilliwack and into the Vancouver terminal on Annacis Island. Dropped my trailer and hooked another LTL for Edmonton. Over the Nordel scale to check I'm legal and back out of Vancouver, stopping at the Chilliwack husky for coffee. Back up the Coquihalla ($50 this time because I've got 6 axles), through Merritt and into the Kamloops Husky for fuel. Up highway 5 as far as Blue River for some food and sleep at the Husky. Another 650 miles done. Out of Blue River around 8pm and North to the Yellowhead highway 16 where I turn East towards Jasper national park, home of the suicidal deer and moose. My trailers fridge unit (reefer) decided it had had enough now and quit, so I stop at the Hinton Husky and called James in dispatch. The load is heated to stop it freezing and it's not that cold tonight, so James tells me to run it into Edmonton (around 3 hours away) and call him from there. OK. It's midnight. The pic is the 'snow-shed' (avalanche protection) just below Coquihalla summit).
